Miss Chan Chan 每年都會任教會考班。去年完成了一班全級最好的27位Form 5精英組, 所以今年繼續從F.4開始,任教全級中四英文最弱的一組,共有24位同學。這組學生大部份都很願意學習,只是他們的根基太弱,實在無力承受艱深的會考英文課程。但無力歸無力,課程始終要跟著走,只是Miss Chan Chan在教學中會給他們多一點時間及幫忙。
最近,我們要作文,題目是write a story based on a given situation,類似續寫故事的文章。看到學生Y交來的功課,Miss Chan Chan 很欣賞他的毅力與努力,在極度有限的英文水平下交來了172字的作文。雖然,Miss Chan Chan 只能很努力才可以勉強看懂,亦只能象徵式的給了幾分,但Y的毅力確是讓人敬佩。
很多朋友說不了解現在的學生英文到底有多"好",我也不知從何說起。所以,在得到學生Y的同意下,我把部份文章轉載....
請大家不要取笑他,因為以他只有小一生的英文水平,實在是花了九牛二虎之力才能達標(最少150字)。如果大家真的想理解Y的文章,只要你用中文來想想這些字句,就可以明白。以下第一段是故事開端,人人也是一樣的。
One day, my friend and I were walking home from school when I heard a burglar alarm ringing. It was coming from a closed shop. The door of the shop was slightly opened. At first, I could not see anything because the shop was dark inside. But then, I saw someone with a torch walking carefully through the back of the door.
Then, I with the friend shouted that 'was inferior we go in shop looked has had any matter?' but my friend shouted to me, 'the shop very dark and very fearful I not afraid. We go home as soon as possible.'
But my curiosity causes me to go in certainly to shop look. Therefore, I invitation my friend goes home first and not need to pay attention to me.
After I entered the shop, me first to open the lamp. Then I discovered that everywhere is the sheet glass and all jewelery does not here. I heard who the back door to open sound, therefore, I immediately went out the shop. Then, I to see to have a strnager left hand to took the knife, right hand from the group to take a jewelery. Therefore, I immediately call to 999.
Police arrive a shop, very quick, strangger has also discovered on stranger pack jewellery back door outside. Finally, police give me certificate.

四年前,Miss Chan Chan曾任教當年還在唸中一的學生Y。當年他仍是一個頑皮小子,到今天,他定性了,只希望他會發憤唸好英文。
我幾年前睇過d小學低年班英文書,d書係直接用he's呢類字眼

一個十歲都冇ge小朋友點樣消化d咁ge野?
題外話,我覺得以hk人由幼稚園學abc學到大咁計,其實整體英文水平其實都幾差,話晒學左咁多年
出到外面,hk人d英文我真係唔見有咩突出(我亦都唔會話我好得去邊)
[版主回覆10/23/2008 21:43:00]現在的小學提倡活動教學,玩遊戲學英文,拼棄grammar teaching,所以就落得如此收場。小學生,只會記得玩games,但從不會/不懂得沉澱當中的知識,老師又生怕學生悶,不會正正式式地教grammar............
所以,某程度上,我是有點反對現在的小學不著重grammar的。現在的小學更提倡reading to learn English,將外語母語化(深層次理解學習),而將母語(中文)外語化地教 (即是細分讀寫聽講這種second language teaching module),就弄得如斯田地........
唉...... 好彩已經離左呢個校園生活.......=.=

幸好比我的學生早一個年代...否則便會淪為中中、英中、新高中的白老鼠.....
學生Y沒有畏懼而不交功課,已經值得鼓勵。希望佢能趁這年餘時間加倍努力,會考爭取好成績。
